Pistachio Crop Insurance Changes Effective for the 2024 and Succeeding Crop Years
The Risk Management Agency (RMA) revised the Pistachio Crop Provisions for the 2024 and succeeding crop years, with the following changes:
- Allow insurance coverage for acreage with less than four years of production records with the use of new Transitional Yields (T-Yields);
- Clarify simple average approved yield for Actual Production History (APH) databases containing T-Yields;
- Clarify variability adjustments for APH databases; and
- Allow assigned yields and temporary yields if allowed by the Special Provisions.
The Pistachio Crop Provisions (24-0470) will be available by close of business today on the RMA website at www.rma.usda.gov.
Approved insurance providers must notify policyholders of these changes at least 30 days prior to the cancellation date, as required by the policy.
