Tart cherries are governed by a marketing order (7 CFR Part 930), which authorizes volume control authority and is managed by the Cherry Industry Administrative Board (CIAB). When the CIAB institutes diversion for a crop year, growers may divert marketable production and receive diversion certificates from the CIAB.
The ARH Tart Cherry for Processing Pilot Crop Provisions state marketable production from diverted acres will be valued at a price determined by the Risk Management Agency (RMA) for each crop year.
In accordance with the crop provisions, RMA is issuing the following price for 2023 crop year tart cherry production that received diversion certificates from the CIAB:
2023 Annual Price for Diverted Production: $0.03 per pound.
