Group Risk Plan (GRP) Oysters is a Federal crop insurance program for wild-caught oysters available in Louisiana that insures against widespread loss of oyster production in a county. It is primarily intended for use by producers whose oyster landings tend to follow the average county oyster landings. GRP Oysters uses county-level landing data as the basis for determining a loss.
USDA Risk Management Agency (RMA) is encouraging interested oyster producers in Louisiana to attend this virtual informational workshop to learn more.
