Crop Insurance Resources Available for Iowa, Minnesota, and Wisconsin Farmers
ST. PAUL, Minn., Jan. 26, 2015 – The USDA’s Risk Management Agency (RMA) reminds farmers of the final planting dates for all crops insured under the federal crop insurance program in the states of Iowa, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. To help inform farmers of the final planting dates in their area, RMA’s St. Paul Regional Office has issued updated maps that show the final planting dates for each crop by county.
For crops with multiple final planting dates, colors are used to identify which final planting date is associated with each county. This can be a useful tool for producers when planning their planting schedule. The maps are available on the St. Paul Regional Office website.
Crop insurance is sold and delivered solely through private crop insurance agents. A list of crop insurance agents is available at all USDA Service Centers and online at the RMA Agent Locator. Producers can use the RMA Cost Estimator to get a premium amount estimate of their insurance needs online.
