Cabbage Growers Need to Make Decisions Soon

VALDOSTA, Ga., June 17, 2015 - The USDA’s Risk Management Agency (RMA) reminds Georgia growers that the final date to purchase crop insurance for cabbage is July 1, 2015. Growers in Brooks, Colquitt, Tift, and Toombs counties need to buy, review, or modify their policies before the sales closing date has passed. Crop insurance provides protection against crop production losses due to natural perils such as drought, hail, and excessive moisture.

Crop insurance is sold and delivered solely through private crop insurance agents. Growers are strongly urged to contact an agent as soon as possible for premium quotes and more details. A list of agents is available at all USDA Service Centers and online at the RMA Agent Locator. Growers can use the RMA Cost Estimator to get a premium amount estimate of their insurance needs online.
