Controlled Environment Pilot Crop Insurance Program Modifications for the 2026 and Succeeding Crop Years

BACKGROUND:

On November 21, 2024, the Federal Crop Insurance Corporation (FCIC) Board of Directors approved modifications to the Controlled Environment Pilot Crop Insurance Program beginning with the 2026 crop year. The modifications include the following:

  • Expand to an additional 48 counties in 17 states;
  • Increase upper limit of coverage percentage from 75% to 85%; and
  • Provide coverage for quarantines, when certain qualifications are met.

ACTION:

The Controlled Environment Pilot Crop Provisions (26-1020) will be available by close of business today on the Risk Management Agency (RMA) website at www.rma.usda.gov.
