Whole-Farm Revenue Protection Pilot Policy and Micro Farm Program Changes Effective for the 2026 and Succeeding Crop Years

BACKGROUND:

The Risk Management Agency (RMA) revised the Whole-Farm Revenue Protection (WFRP) Pilot Policy for 2026 and succeeding crop years. The same changes apply to the Micro Farm Program.

The following changes are included to conform with the One Big Beautiful Bill Act:

  • Update the beginning and veteran farmers and ranchers’ additional subsidy percentages;
  • Increase the subsidy percentages on 75%-85% coverage levels for single commodity WFRP policies; and
  • Allow all eligible producers to qualify for a 90 percent coverage level.

ACTION:

The Whole-Farm Revenue Protection Pilot Policy (26-0076) will be available by close of business today on the RMA website at www.rma.usda.gov/policy-procedure/general-policies/whole-farm-revenue-protection.

Approved insurance providers must notify policyholders of these changes at least 30 days prior to the cancellation date, as required by the policy.

Interested producers should contact a crop insurance agent for further information. A list of agents can be found on the RMA website at www.rma.usda.gov/Information-Tools/Agent-Locator.

Questions regarding these modifications may be directed to rma.wfrp@usda.gov.
