The Risk Management Agency (RMA) issued Product Management Bulletin PM-24-039 on June 27, 2024, announcing changes to several policies under the Expanding Options for Specialty and Organic Growers (EOSOG) Final Rule. The Common Crop Insurance Provisions Basic Provisions, Area Risk Protection Insurance Basic Provisions, and 7 individual Crop Provisions were released at that time.

Background

Today, June 27, 2024, the Federal Crop Insurance Corporation (FCIC) published a final rule in the Federal Register that amended Subpart J (Appeal Procedure), Common Crop Insurance Policy (CCIP), Basic Provisions and Area Risk Protection Insurance (ARPI), Basic Provisions, and various Crop Provisions.

Background

The Federal Crop Insurance Corporation (FCIC) revised the Area Risk Protection Insurance (ARPI) Basic Provisions, Common Crop Insurance Policy (CCIP) Basic Provisions, Sunflower Seed Crop Provisions, and Dry Pea Crop Provisions for the 2021 and succeeding crop years for crops with a contract change date on or after November 30, 2020, and for all other crops, the changes are applicable for the 2022 and succeeding crop years. The Risk Management Agency (RMA) published a Final Rule with Comment in the Federal Register, effective for the 2017 and succeeding crop years, which revised the Crop Provisions that contained Prevented Planting coverage levels for all crops with a 2017 contract change date on or after November 23, 2016, and for the 2018 and succeeding crop years for all crops with a 2017 contract change date prior to November 23, 2016.
