In accordance with Section 8 of the Rainfall and Vegetation Index Plan Common Policy Basic Provisions, final grid indices and payment calculation factors have been determined and approved for the following:

Common Crop Insurance Policy 1

The 2018 CY projected prices shown below are approved for the Yield Protection, Revenue Protection and Revenue Protection with Harvest Price Exclusion plans of insurance. The 2018 CY volatility factors shown below are approved for the Revenue Protection and Revenue Protection with Harvest Price Exclusion plans of insurance. The projected prices and volatility factors apply to policies with a January 31 sales closing date and are applicable for the crops, types, practices and states indicated below:

Background

The CEPP peanut factors necessary to establish the insured’s amount of protection under the peanut program for the 2018 CY are identified below. The factors are applied to the commodity prices for wheat, cotton, soybean oil, and soybean meal during the discovery period of January 15, 2018 to February 14, 2018. These factors apply only to states with a Sales Closing Date (SCD) of February 28, 2018.

The 2017 CY harvest prices shown below are for the Revenue Protection and Revenue Protection with Harvest Price Exclusion plans of insurance. The harvest prices are applicable for the crops, types, and states with a March 15, 2017, sales closing date.

Hybrid Canola 2013

Hybrid canola seed production is a process where seed companies contract with producers to plant and grow male and female parent plants which cross-pollinate to produce canola with specific and controlled traits. Hybrid canola seed has been grown in parts of Alberta, Saskatchewan, Washington and Idaho for the past 20 years and more recently in parts of Montana and North Dakota. Some 2013 estimates put the amount of U.S. acreage contracted at around 30,000 acres.
