Commodity Exchange Price Provisions

Background

The Risk Management Agency (RMA) derives prices for certain programs by applying factors to projected and harvest prices established in accordance with the Commodity Exchange Price Provisions (CEPP). The factors for organic oats and organic rye are provided below.

The “CEPP Section II: Oats” document authorizes RMA to derive organic oat prices. In accordance with this document, the following 2024 CY organic price factor will be applied to derive organic oats prices:

Background

The CEPP – Peanuts factors necessary to establish a producer’s amount of protection under the peanut program for the 2023 CY are identified below. The factors are applied to the commodity prices for wheat, cotton, soybean oil, and soybean meal during the discovery period of February 1, 2023, to February 28, 2023. These factors apply only to states with a SCD of March 15, 2023.

Background

The CEPP – Peanuts factors necessary to establish a producer’s amount of protection under the peanut program for the 2023 CY are identified below. The factors are applied to the commodity prices for wheat, cotton, soybean oil, and soybean meal during the discovery period of January 15, 2023, to February 14, 2023. These factors apply only to states with a SCD of February 28, 2023.

The CEPP – Peanuts factors necessary to establish the insured’s amount of protection under the peanut program for the 2023 CY are identified below. The factors are applied to the commodity prices for wheat, cotton, soybean oil, and soybean meal during the discovery period of December 15, 2022, to January 14, 2023. These factors apply only to states with a Sales Closing Date (SCD) of January 31, 2023.

Background

The Commodity Exchange Price Provisions (CEPP) are used in conjunction with either the Common Crop Insurance Policy Basic Provisions or the Area Risk Protection Insurance Basic Provisions, along with Crop Provisions for the following crops: barley, canola/rapeseed, corn, cotton, grain sorghum, rice, soybeans, sunflowers, and wheat.

The CEPP specifies how and when the projected and harvest price components will be determined. The CEPP contains two sections:

The factors are applied to the commodity prices for wheat, cotton, soybean oil, and soybean meal during the discovery period of February 1, 2022 to February 28, 2022. These factors apply only to states with a Sales Closing Date (SCD) of March 15, 2022.

Background

The CEPP - Peanuts factors necessary to establish the insured’s amount of protection under the peanut program for the 2022 CY are identified below. The factors are applied to the commodity prices for wheat, cotton, soybean oil, and soybean meal during the discovery period of December 15, 2021 to January 14, 2022. These factors apply only to states with a Sales Closing Date (SCD) of January 31, 2022.

Background

The Risk Management Agency (RMA) derives prices for certain programs by applying factors and premiums to conventional projected and harvest prices established in accordance with the Commodity Exchange Price Provisions (CEPP). The factors and premiums for organic rice, organic cotton, popcorn, organic popcorn, confectionery sunflowers, and organic sunflowers are provided below.
