PM-22-073

The Risk Management Agency (RMA) released provisions implementing contract-based features for the flue-cured tobacco program beginning with the 2021 crop year. These provisions were developed as part of a collaborative process with flue-cured tobacco stakeholders and have been positively received by flue-cured tobacco producers.

In accordance with Section 15 of the ARPI Crop Provisions, Section 10 of the ECO Endorsement, Section 14 of the MP Crop Provisions, and Section 10 of the SCO Endorsement, approved final county yields, final county revenues, harvest revenues, harvest margins and payment factors for the 2021 crop year will be available by close of business today in the following formats:

PM-21-064

The Risk Management Agency (RMA) is revising the Special Provisions for flue cured tobacco. These revisions were prompted by feedback from producer groups and other industry stakeholders regarding the contracted tobacco features added for crop year 2021. Based on that feedback, RMA is improving the weighted average price calculations and incorporating clarifications regarding acreage reporting and spousal entities. Specific changes include:

MGR-21-001

Background

On November 30, 2020, RMA issued modifications to the flue cured tobacco crop insurance program for the 2021 and succeeding crop years. The changes include a two-tier price election and quality adjustment eligibility for tobacco grown under a production agreement.

PM-16-058

The Risk Management Agency (RMA) published a Final Rule with Comment in the Federal Register, effective for the 2017 and succeeding crop years, which revised the Crop Provisions that contained Prevented Planting coverage levels for all crops with a 2017 contract change date on or after November 23, 2016, and for the 2018 and succeeding crop years for all crops with a 2017 contract change date prior to November 23, 2016.
