Background

The Risk Management Agency (RMA) has revised the Catastrophic Risk Protection Endorsement, the Area Risk Protection Insurance Regulations, and the Common Crop Insurance Regulations Basic Provisions to incorporate changes made in the 2014 Farm Bill Final Rule published in the Federal Register on June 30, 2016.

The Common Crop Insurance Policy Basic Provisions also includes changes that were made in the Double Cropping Final Rule with Request for Comments published in the Federal Register on June 22, 2016.

Additionally, the Area Risk Protection Insurance Basic Provisions and the Common Crop Insurance Policy Basic Provisions have been revised to incorporate changes previously made in the Ineligibility Amendment (15-Ineligibility) and the Farm Bill Amendment (15-CCIP-Farm Bill).

The new provisions are effective for the 2017 and succeeding crop years for all crops with a 2017 contract change date on or after June 30, 2016, and for the 2018 and succeeding crop years for all crops with a 2017 contract change date prior to June 30, 2016.
